Garden Dreaming
An exhibtion identity exploring and challenging the Garden City of the future
As part of ‘Casting Hope’ programme series, ‘Garden Dreaming’ explores of the Garden City of the future, bringing together design perspectives from leading industry figures in urban planning, architecture and ecology. We were invited by Design Singapore to conceptualise the exhibition identity.
The exhibition design seeks to portray the dynamic tension between organic vegetation growth and the strategic urban environment. Graphically, architectural representations of greenery intersperse with block-like typography. In the same vein, the exhibition space features rigidly typeset wall decals softly framed by plants, while floor decals invite the viewer to plant their feet and engage with the content. Anchored by the strong use of dark green and coral, the identity design also prods the question, ‘What constitutes a garden?’.
Practice Theory designed the exhibition graphics, digital banners, and social media for this project.
