DECK Journal of Photography

Practice Theory redesigned the annual Journal of Photography published by DECK, an independent art space in Singapore showcasing art photography in Asia. We refreshed the journal’s creative direction in time for its launch at the 6th Singapore International Photography Festival, evolving its typographic expression and grid system while retaining a sensitivity and reverence to the power of the image. As a result of the realisation that most of the images showcased were in a landscape format, we also introduced a cover design that spans the front and back of the journal, allowing for various crops, formats and interpretations of the same image.
