+ More Information
Light Within Ink is acclaimed Singaporean photographer and Cultural Medallion recipient Chua Soo Bin’s first solo show after more than a decade. The exhibition presents more than 50 portraits shot by Soo Bin of the late Wu Guanzhong, widely known as the founder of modern Chinese painting. Practice Theory was commissioned to develop the exhibition identity, graphics, and catalogue for the show.
The catalogue’s format and form serve as an extended ‘carry-away’ exhibition space. Mirroring the non-linear curatorial approach and the intention of the collection (or the lack thereof), its contents are presented like a personal copy of a book, with various tipped-in and cropped ephemera plates interweaving between pages of images and text.
